|   THE NORTH POLE (November 1, 2010) -- Well, I hope everyone had a pleasant and safe Halloween! Now, November is here and we are just 53 days away from Christmas! My, that's not much time when you are making toys, training reindeer and getting the sleigh ready for our very special Christmas Eve Mission!

The reindeer are in training now, getting ready to fly on Christmas Eve. They will train hard up until two weeks before Christmas, when we will rest them so they will be strong as we fly around the world on the most magical night of the year. Right now, Donder and Prancer have the flu, but the Elves are taking good care of them and in another week they should be back to full strength and ready to get back to training.

Many of you have already e-mailed or mailed your Christmas list to me, but I know now that Halloween has passed, that we will be getting more and more letters and e-mails right up until Christmas Eve. So, I look forward to reading your letters!

Well, I must get back to work because I have a list to check twice, you know!  Please remember to carry the Spirit of Christmas in your heart each and every day all through the year.

|   THE NORTH POLE (October 7, 2010) -- My, oh my, we are working very hard as Christmas is only 78 days away! Can you believe it? Time flies when you are working hard, eating cookies and drinking hot chocolate.

The Vendiqum -- also known as Elves -- have been working around the clock. Many of you have already sent in your Christmas List and of course there are many, many more to come. We always promise to do our very best for each and everyone. What we ask of each of you is to carry the Spirit of Christmas in your heart and to help others whenever you can.

It is a wonderful feeling being able to give of yourself and to help others. Remember, there is no good deed that is too small.

Of course the next big holiday in Canada is Thanksgiving Day on Oct. 11 and around the world it's Halloween on Oct. 31. Do you have your costume ready yet? Are you buying one or making one with help from grownup?

Well, whatever you do, always remember to be safe and don't eat too many treats! Funny, that's what Mrs. Claus says to me every Christmas Eve!

|   THE NORTH POLE (September 28, 2010) -- Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. We are very busy as time is flying by and we get closer to Christmas Eve. As of today, there are only 87 days to go until Christmas -- can you believe it?

Many of you have already sent in your Christmas Lists and I am sure others are getting ready to do the same. Of course I have my own list to check twice, you know!

This year I would like to encourage you to give the gift of love -- help an elderly person in some way and be happy to receive a simple "thank you" in return for your good deeds.

This is the true gift of Christmas -- it's very simple but it is at the very core of what is most important and what is behind true Christmas Spirit. The only cost to you is your time and what you receive in return for your good deed is priceless. In fact, you may find that you like that feeling so much, you will want to do it again and again.

That's what Christmas is all about.

|   THE NORTH POLE (September 1, 2010) -- The calendar is turned to September and that means fall, cooler temperatures, falling leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then of course -- Christmas! Even though we have snow and ice all year round here at the North Pole, we still get excited when September arrives, as we know that Christmas is that much closer and so is our special Christmas Eve mission. Only 114 days remain until Christmas, so we are very excited to get extra busy to make sure everything is ready for our special night.

Schools are back in session and I know that is a very exciting time for everyone -- children and parents alike! Did you know that we have Elf school in January and February, where the Elves learn all about the newest technology and how to make better toys and toys that are even more fun to play with?  Yes, indeed there is Elf School. One of the most favorite classes is the Microchip Processor class -- the Elves really seem to enjoy that.

Well, I just go now as we all have lots of work to do before Christmas Eve.

Remember, Christmas has nothing to do with what you receive, but has everything to do with what you give.

|   THE NORTH POLE (August 26, 2010) -- Greetings everyone! Well, summer is winding down and many of you have either started the new school year or are about to start school again.

I hope you all had a fun summer and are looking forward to a great school year. With the start of school, that means fall is close and right now we are only 123 days away from Christmas, which is very exciting for us.

Everyone here is working very hard to make sure we are ready to go on Christmas Eve!

I am just taking a little break and as I looked outside the workshop window, I saw big fluffy snowflakes starting to fall. Ah, there's nothing more relaxing than watching snow drift silently to the ground and cover the earth like a blanket of sparkling diamonds. For many of you around the world , it is very hot, but for those areas that normally receive snow, it is coming in a few short months...maybe sooner!

Well, I must get back to work, but first, I am going to visit the kitchen first to see if there are any fresh chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate!

|   THE NORTH POLE (May 31, 2010) -- Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by.

It has been quite awhile since I have blogged anything, but we have been very, very busy getting ready for Christmas 2010. It may seem a long way off to most of you, but to everyone at the North Pole, the year is flying by! We only have 207 days to go until our Christmas Eve mission, which is always the highlight of our year, but also one of the most tiring times of the year.

We love doing what we do and visiting your homes and leaving you a surprise for Christmas morning, but when we get back home, we are ready for a long winter's nap, to say the least, followed by a round of golf with the Easter Bunny -- he has a winter home in New Zealand, but I am sure you knew that. Everyone knows that, don't they?

We just completed a month of training on the latest toy technology and now the Elves will be using that as we create new toys for this Christmas.

The reindeer are enjoying their free time right now. We don't begin training for our Christmas Eve mission until October, so the reindeer are resting and playing a lot and of course eating a lot! We have to keep Cupid away from the apples -- let's just say they don't agree with him and leave it at that.

Rudolph's passion is candy canes and he can have one every once in awhile, but we have to be careful or he will eat too many, then he gets a tummy ache -- and that's not a good thing, as anyone who has ever had a tummy ache would know.

I get a lot of letters and e-mails during the year and many have the same question -- do you check the Naughty and Nice List during the entire year? -- and the answer is yes. We are always watching, so it is very important that you all be good citizens all through the year -- not just at Christmas.

Well, I must go for now, but I will try to do a much better job of making sure I stay in touch through my blog site the rest of the year. Be good, be kind to others and always Believe!

|   THE NORTH POLE (February 4, 2010) -- Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by.

I wanted to take a moment today to talk about a little girl, who is a good friend of Santa Claus. She is only four years old, but has courage way beyond her years. Her name is Brooklynn Eastland and is battling a brain disease. She has had over 10 surgeries in her young life and this past Christmas was the first she had not spent in a hospital.

During my busy Christmas Eve, I took a few extra minutes to see Brooklynn and spend a little time with her. You can read about our visit here.

Recently, a Kansas City, Mo., television station did a story on Brooklynn, who was able to take a dream trip to Florida, courtesy of the Kansas City  Dream Factory.

I hope you will take a moment to watch and read about Brooklynn and if you are so inclined, to offer a prayer for her and her family. I know it would be greatly appreciated.

Like so many children all over the world, Brooklynn is a wonderful young lady and I am happy that I was able to meet her in person and get to know her just a little bit better.

As we begin a new year, I want to take a moment and wish you all the best in 2010. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a chance to spend times with family and friends and share the joy of the Christmas season.

I hope you all can carry that joy and love in your heart throughout the year. That's a difficult thing to do in the world we live in, but I hope you will all try to keep the true Spirit of Christmas alive in your heart throughout the year.

Please be kind, thoughtful and helpful and when you give of yourself, don't expect to get anything in return, but be gracious and thankful if you do.

Although we are well into the planning stages for next Christmas, Mrs. Claus and I are going to take a little vacation and then get back to work as we prepare for the 2010 Christmas season.
